New found learnings of action research

From my readings based on action research, I have learned that this way of professional growth provides a consistent way of learning.  This allows educators and administrators to gain knowledge and insight of their own performance and experiences. Action research not only benefits leadership qualities, but teaching styles, learning methods, collaboration and evolving ideas.

Action research doesn't just occur in the classrooms, but within the school among teachers and administrators.  An example of this includes PLC meetings and principal meetings within the school district.  PLC meetings have personally allowed me to gain new resources and ideas.  This collaboration always gives new ideas and proves the evolving methods of instruction to be beneficial.

Although action research gives benefits of new resources and ideas, it also allows reflection on personal performance and styles.  Being aware of ones effectiveness and success is a great way to develop professionally and I feel this is an important factor in action research.
